For over 50 years, the Columbus City Schools Department
of Adult and Community Education has been committed to providing
programs for lifelong learning. Adult Workforce Education courses can be
taken in health occupations, skilled trades, and computer applications.
You can prepare to earn your GED by attending free GED preparation
classes, and foreign born adults can learn to read, write, and speak
English in our English for Speakers of Other Languages program.
Classes are conveniently located at different sites
throughout Franklin County. We encourage you to read through this
website to see how we may help you reach your personal and career goals.

Accreditation
The Department of Adult and Community Education is
approved by the Ohio Department of Education and accredited by the North
Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement.
The Department is also designated as one of Ohio’s Full-Service Centers.
To receive this designation, a school must offer comprehensive training
programs with advanced technological capabilities, modern equipment, and
qualified instructors. All instructors hold a teaching certificate
issued by the Ohio Department of Education.
